The Birth Of Music Gecko - Raising The Baton
May 12th 2006 05:55
Introduction.
Welcome to Music Gecko. As you may have already guessed, Music Gecko is a blog that will be dedicated to music...
music; noun 1. sounds combined together using melody, rhythm and harmony to express ideas and feelings
Music is an amazing thing. The right combination of pitches and rhythms creates a powerful accompaniment to any mood. In the words of Eminem,
"... music can alter moods and talk to you..."
I don't know whether you're a fan of Jamiroquai or not, but (unless you madly, passionately dislike their music) next time you're a little sad, put on Jamiroquai (I recommend Falling from the album Synkronized). There's something so brilliant about his music and the tone of his voice that really lifts my spirits. Don't be surprised if you start tapping your feet or bopping your head along - the joy JK exudes is contagious.
Alas, I digress.
Music, back on topic, is truly wonderful because it brings together so many people. How many times have you sat with friends or family, or even strangers, listening to music?? And did you find that suddenly you had something in common with those people? Music looks past race, religion, social class. It touches the soul.
As I become more closely aquainted with my blog, I will continue to discuss (in far more detail) the universality of music.
Until the next time (in the very near future),
Peace.

Music is a huge part of my life too and I find that most times in my life, "there's nothing left for me to do but DANCE!"

It's always good to have another music blog on the site.
I like your point about music being able to bring strangers together
Ps - It's prefered, and easier to read if you use size 2 (instead of 1) for your writing
